He studied the art of meditation in Portugal, Japan, Holland and Brazil. He graduated in naval engineering and later in Bioenergetics at Namaste Center in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Lover of improvisation dance, he has been advising students in this art of freeing the body since 1992. An adept of Martial Arts such as Judo, Kempo, Taido and Kung Fu.
For 20 years, he led the Portuguese Association of Taido, a Japanese Martial Art. Participated in the foundation of the Dance-Theater-Performance schools CEM, EVOÉ and SOU. He co-founded BIOTribe, a professional association and center for Bioenergetics Therapy and Active Meditation. Since 2000, he directs the project Encontros do Umbigo (Bellybutton Encounters).
Pramod by his words
Born in Portugal in 1966. As a child, he believed he was an alien for dreaming about Tibet by Lobsang Rampa and what was beyond material reality. His dream was to be a “caveman” able to live independently on the top of the mountain, in the middle of a forest.
At the age of 7, he started Japanese Martial Arts. Later, he traveled to Japan where he learned Zazen Meditation and adopted a Japanese “father”. He always loved dance and the contemporary movement until he discovered contact improvisation.
There, a new dimension was opened. For the first time, “I savored a state of presence that I had never known before, a place without mind control, where the body really reveals what it can and knows how to do.”
From dancer to mentor
It was through dance that Pramod Miguel Bento discovered a new aspiration – Osho Meditation. He left aside the Japanese inspiration and started a long journey in search of his own being studying at Humaniversity.
In 2010, he participated in the “Father and Mother” process at the Namastê Center in Brazil and graduated in Bioenergetics. He moved to the Osho Rashana Community and says “here I learned to know my difficulties in relaxing and trusting in friendship and not being afraid to live my reality”.
Today, he works with the union of all his teachings and shares with others the methods of Bioenergetics, Osho´s Active Meditation, Humaniversity Social Meditation and Easy Motion. The great lessons he’s received in life have served him to gain courage and motivation to move forward with his visions of life. Meaning, returning to live a simple life with full awareness. This has always been his big childhood dream.
